Congratulations Brooklynn Saldaña - 2025 Ralph Cook Scholarship Winner

Brooklynn is heading to UCD Volleyball camp this summer to sharpen her skills before the Rio Vista High season! She is a committed athlete dedicated to improving herself but what really stands out is her willingness to share her sports knowledge with elementary and middle schoolers. All this while she maintaining her 4.1 GPA! Congratulations Brooklynn! True leadership always leads with an example of hard work combined with a desire to improve the community around you. In your essay, you showed this leadership when you said, "Being a great athlete is so much more than being good at the sport. It is respecting your teammates and coaches. It is encouraging others. It is arriving to practices and games on time. These are skills many of our athletes will begin to lack if we do not implement them from a younger age."
